Many who donate are concerned with wiping thier hard drive. We recomend Darik's Boot and Nuke ("DBAN"). DBAN is a self-contained boot disk that securely wipes the hard disks of most computers. DBAN will automatically and completely delete the contents of any hard disk that it can detect, which makes it an appropriate utility for bulk or emergency data destruction.

Note: Komputers 4 R Kids does not use hard drives less than 80 gigabytes. When donating, if you have an old HD, to save yourself some time we recomend removing the hard drive and physically damaging it, drill a hole in it or smack it with a hammer. Once this is done do not throw it in the trash. Button the case of the computer back up and donate the HD along with it. We will make sure it is disposed of correctly.
